Well, certainly no giant outpourings of emotion like some of the younger members of this board... but just a quick note to say that I'm doin okay, my diabetes is perhaps becoming better controlled as I learn to exercise more and watch my carb. intake.  Kayaking is my new interest, I just bought an Old Town Dirigo 120 kayak and have been hitting the nearby rivers and streams quite a bit when the weather allows.  More exercise = more healthy blood sugar levels. Oh... and I've misplaced my damned digital camera... can't find it ANYWHERE.  Know it's in the house someplace, but no clue where it may have gotten to.  If I hadn't dropped a ton of mo

For all the bad days I've been having lately (read my previous entry for more info, or simply see my icon to know whatzup), I gotta tell ya, I had one hell of a GOOD day today.  Didn't have to work, got to sleep in late, got up when my body told me I wanted to, not when the infernal alarm clock said I had to.  Took a leisurely shower, got dressed, and took the family down to "the big city" (Portland - no, the other one, the one in Maine *grin*) to see a Red Sox Double-A farm team, the Portland Sea Dogs beat their arch-rival NY-Yankee farm team club 6 to 2.  Ran into a bunch of good friends at the game (all sitting in the same section, no less

Diabetes SUX!

Back in Jan of 2003, I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes Mellitus (Sugar Diabetes, more commonly known).  Since then, I have been on a roller coaster ride of health care and medical services, nurse practitioners and dieticians, and now take about 30 pills a day, not only to combat my current symptoms to but to prevent or delay the onset of OTHER symptoms that diabetics incur. Holy Christ, I just wish I could keep my dinner down.  I've been nauseous and tossing my cookies with every meal... nothing stays down for more than about an hour.  This has been going on for well over a week now, and has been gradually increasing from just happening
